Hersonissos is located 26 kilometers east of Heraklion, between Anissaras and Stalis. Developed for tourism and within a few decades it has evolved into the largest tourist resort in Crete.
Hersonissos has about 3000 residents, but this number is multiplied every summer with thousands of seasonal workers in tourism, and of course with the hundreds of thousands of tourists who spend their holidays in Hersonissos.
